Short description: The concept of health and disease, epizootic and immunological conditions of diseases infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, disease prevention, emergency first aid, the concept of physiological, clinical and behavioral welfare, veterinary requirements for animals and biological material, ethical and legal aspects of animal experiments, ethics committees, invasiveness, stress and ways to minimize it.
Full description: The concept of health and disease, epizootic and immunological conditions of diseases infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, disease prevention, first aid przedlekarska in emergencies, the concept of physiological, clinical and clinical well-being behavioral criteria of welfare, veterinary requirements for the marketing of animals and biological material, ethical and legal aspects of animal experiments, ethics committees, the scale of invasiveness, stress and ways to minimize it.

Learning outcomes: After course completion In area of knowledge student: 1.Describes the causes of diseases - internal and extrinsic, physical, chemical and biological factors. Describes pathogenesis, non-infectious, infectious and non-infectious diseases invasive animals. 2. Indicates key elements of care for animal herds. Defines the mechanisms of resistance nonspecific and specific, natural and unnatural immunity, the role of colostrum in the development of immunity in newborns of animals. 3. Defines the requirements set in the trade of animals and biological material.Translates principles performing animal experiments and principles experience control. In area of skills student: 1. is able to assess the health status of animals and herd, animal welfare assessment. Provides first aid pre-game to animals. 2. Applies activities in the field of veterinary prevention and diagnostic animal diseases, it applies the necessary actions regarding diseases subject to reporting obligation. Uses methods to reduce stress in animals. 3. Evaluates the state of health of animals in the neonatal period and transfer of passive resistance. Applies quick tests diagnostic. In area of social competences student 1. Shows the need to raise qualifications professional skills and the need to learn throughout life, works easily and easily in a group where he can take different functions. 2. Can take responsibility for safety and protection of animals, especially against factors pathogenic, works with animals ethically. 3. Can implement the principles of general and specific prevention, being aware of the responsibility for animal breeding, caring for their health and safety.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: Current assessment (based on oral statements) of progress in learning and activity. Evaluation on the substitution of the interpretation of laboratory and field tests. Written test on the basis of lecture material and exercises (oral answer). Students receive a set of 40 issues in advance. If the colloquium is not counted in the first term, the student has the right to re-pass it orally or in writing within the correcting period.
